Workflow
Like most creative processes, the love and journey of how we create is unique to us all.
Since my return to the landscape of musical expression, the composing and songwriting process has helped me further express my emotions through melody with authenticity.

When composing or songwriting, I normally start by developing a first draft instrumental composition which is referred to as a promo mix.
When that is ready, I will share it in a dedicated track page and listen to it from a journey perspective to see if it has scope for melodic improvement and if a vocal promo mix version can also be created.
If a vocal version can be developed, a vocal promo mix will then be created to encapsulate lyrics and a dedicated top line melody for the lyrics if the song supports it.
All lyrics for the vocal promo mix will go into the private session hub track area along with a guide track to develop and support artistic performance with an artist or vocalist I might work with on the track.
The vocal mix may have different instrumentation, song structure and melody simply as the vocal melodies tend to sit in the same room as instrumental melody, but may cover different key ranges that the instrumental melody does not reach or scale.
The end result can be two promo versions of one works to include:
- vocal promo
- instrumental promo

If these promo mixes are selected for release, they are both re-edited with any additional sounds added, undertake engineering tweaks, are them mixed, re-balanced and finally mastered.

To compliment all promo mixes while in development, I also like to articulate literally what the music is about which can also found on the track page.

That's my workflow!
